Alex Poindexter - Teaching Pastor

Alex & Cassie PoindexterPastor Alex Poindexter was ordained into the Ministry as a Baptist Minister in June of 1989.  Having served his Lord now for approximately 19 years of pastoral ministry, Pastor Alex has embarked on an exciting new church plant in partnership with the Little River Baptist Association and the Baptist State Convention of NC.  Alex came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ at the age of 13.  After graduating from High School and attending a religious college for one year, Alex married the former Cassi Annette Manly, (a Baptist missionary’s daughter) and entered active duty with the U.S. Military.  Following approximately ten years of military service, Alex surrendered to the call of the ministry.  Alex has pastored churches in Canada, South Carolina, Maryland, and North Carolina and has been involved in planting one other church.  He and his wife have two daughters.  Their oldest is married to the Mr. Chase Batten of Four Oaks, NC and they reside in the Benson area.  Sydney, their youngest, resides in Raleigh.  Alex presently is working on a concurrent Masters/Doctorate of Ministry program through South West Bible College and Seminary in Jennings, Louisiana.  Pastor Alex believes in the great need for the return of Expository preaching, along with practical application, to our pulpits, and for God’s people to be Expository listeners; God’s people learning, growing, and applying God’s Word to their daily lives!

Chase Batten - Associate of Discipleship & Small Groups

Chase & Jamie BattenI was born on Nov. 7, 1984 in Clinton, NC.  I was raised in a christian home and I am the son of a minister.  I accepted Christ as my savior when I was 10 years old, but never really understood what that truly meant until I had graduated from high school. In May of 2003 I graduated from South Johnston HS, and shortly after I surrendered to God’s calling me into the ministry. In July 2004 I met my beautiful wife to be (Jamie), and we were wed Nov.  12, 2005.  In April of 2007 I enrolled at Southwest Bible College & Seminary where I am currently working on an associates degree.  Graceway is the second church plant that God has allowed me to be a part of and I look forward to all that He has in store for us here.  My greatest desire is that we not only see souls saved for Christ, but also that Graceway would be a place where those souls are nurtured and grow in Christ.
